Present simple
verbal time of habitual actions that are not necessarily happening, but I can regularly do it.

Affirmative
subject + verb + complement

Example:

  • I play handball.
  • We write poems.
  • They drink beer.
3rd person (he, she , it) add -s to the verbs.
Example:

  • She cooks dinner.
  • He plays handball.
  • She eats an ice-cream.
Verbs ending in -s, sh, ch, x, o add es.

  • Pass: Passes
  • Wash: Washes
  • Fix: Fixes
  • Go: Goes
Verbs ending in -y followed by consonant, change 'y' to ies.

  • Fly:flies
  • Dry:dries
  • cry:cries
Negative

I, you, we, they
subject + do + not (don't) + verb + complement

Example:
  • I don't play handball.
  • We don't write poems.
  • They don't work.
  • You don't work.

He, she, it
subject + does + not (doesn't) + verb + complement

Example:
  • She doesn't cook dinner.
  • He doesn't eat vegetables.
  • It doesn't work.
Interrogative Yes-No

I, you, we, they
Do + subject + verb + complement + ?

Example:
  • Do i like chocolate?  Yes, i do.
  • Do we  play handball?   No, we don't.

He, she , it
Does + subject + verb + complement + ?

Example:
  • Does he like milk?  Yes, he does.
  • Does she play tennis?  No, she doesn't
Present continuous
Actions that are in progress or that are occurring at the right moment in which we are speaking.
Affirmative
subject + verb To-Be + verb(-ing) + complement

Example:
  • I am eating pizza.
  • She is driving her car.
  • We are running in the park.
Negative
subject + verb To-be + not + verb(-ing) + complement

Example:
  • He is not jumping.
  • She is not reading the newspaper.
  • I am not speaking German.
Interrogative
verb To-be + subject + verb(-ing) + complement + ?
Example:
  • Are you reading the newspaper?
  • Are you working very hard?
  • Is he playing in the park?

On: sobre
Above: Encima (sin tocar el objeto)
Behind: detrás
In front of: en frente de
